What did you do this past week?

The majority of this past week, I spent my time doing work on the Integer project and also working on the Docker project I had at work. These two tasks took the majority of my time and I had to manage my time in trying to finish both of these tasks in a timely manner.

What’s in your way?

I had a tough time managing my time this week because of a huge load of work that I had to complete this week. The Integer project took a huge percentage of my time during the week as my partner and I tried to get our code to work.

What will you do next week?

This next week, I plan to focus on improving my stress coping mechanisms and try to put my efforts in a planned manner so that I do not burn out. I plan to employ Elon Musk’s block schedule technique which basically splits his day up into 30 min slots and splits up his tasks into these slots.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #6?

I read through Paper 6 which is basically the Vector.cpp code from our next project in this class. Overall, it seems pretty self explanatory based on what I read in the file. It is actually quite similar to the ArrayList project we implemented back in Data structures with the base data structure being an array.

What was your experience of containers, container adapters, and allocators? (this question will vary, week to week)

I actually found the discussion about containers and adapters quite interesting. This was similar to our discussion about the similarities between different Collections data structures back in Data Structures. I am still a bit confused on the concept of allocators tags and how we can use them within our code.

What made you happy this week?

I was happy this week since I got to hang out with my friends and got to try playing volleyball. It turns out that it is actually a fun game and you can have an enjoyable time overall.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

This week, I really got to experience working with git on a serious project. I also had to work along with a partner, which helped me understand the idea of working with different branches.
